El/La is the only translatina-led organization in the San Francisco Bay Area. This year has been exceptionally challenging for our staff and participants; yet we still found ways to rise up, to support one another, and to center trans joy and resilience.
Our QuinceañEl/La: Powerful, Free & Beautiful is an opportunity for us to come together with you, our allies, to celebrate the joy, resiliency, and legacy of El/La’s translatina community. Somos poderosas, somos libres, somos hermosas.
Funds raised from our QuinceañEl/La will directly support El/La’s on-going programming, which includes:
COVID-19 Relief Program: Financial support via gift cards, as well as hygiene kit distribution
Virtual Workshops, Social Networking, and Peer Support: Celebrations, Artistic Expression, Spirituality, Peer Social Networking, Indigenous Traditions, Events Social Participation, Life Issues Skills Groups
Violence Prevention: Case Management Linkage, Coalition Building, Accompaniment Direct Advocacy, Health, Rights Violence Prevention Educational Groups
HIV Prevention PrEP Navigation: Intakes, Street Outreach, HIV Testing, HIV PrEP Educational Groups, Peer-to-Peer Counseling, Case Management Linkage
Leadership Development: Translatina Participation in Collaborative Meetings, Luchadoras Leadership Development Program (paid), Translatina Professional Development Fellowship (paid), Translatina Council (paid)
Advocacy: Staff Participation in Collaborative Meetings, Public Visibility Events, Advocacy on Transgender Issues including Immigration, Violence, Health City Funding
